University City, MO Estate Sale 12/1-12/2

Whoa Momma Mid Century Madness!

A civil rights trailblazer in American business, Allen L. McKellar, Helped Pepsi create marketing campaigns that pushed societal boundaries, hurdled racial and ethnic stereotypes, and shined a more honest light on black middle class America. He is one of the subjects in the book, The Real Pepsi Challenge: The Inspirational Story of Breaking the Color Barrier in American Business, by author Stephanie Capparell.

By the mid 1950's, McKellar transitioned from soft drinks to brewery by joining Falstaff Brewing Company and making St. Louis his family home. Through his 22 years with Falstaff, McKellar eventually became Senior Vice President of Marketing and was instrumental in recruiting Hank Aaron, Rosie Grier and James Brown as spokespersons for the brand. Throughout his career, McKellar not only changed the ideals of America's corporations, he also helped change the ideals of post segregation-era America. The lifetime collection of Falstaff and Mid Century items at this sale are PRICED TO SELL unlike many sales that seem higher than retail.
